Singer, actor Malika Rajput aka Vijay Lashmi was found dead at her residence in Uttar Pradesh. The body of the 35-year-old singer was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in a room of her residence in Sitakund on February 13. According to India TV, Malika’s family members were initially unaware of the tragedy. Sumitra Singh, Malika’s mother, recounted the harrowing moment of discovery and stated, ‘Earlier the door was closed. And the light was on. We took three rounds but could not open the door. At last, I looked through the window and saw that she was standing there. When I knocked on the door, I saw that our daughter was hanging. I called my husband and others but she was no more.’ Police Officer Shriram Pandey remarked that, based on initial observation, it appears to be a case of suicide.
